Hi this video is about How YouTube Video Ads
Target People On Mobile Devices Did you know that 50% of all YouTube views
originate from mobile devices? YouTube overall and YouTube on mobile alone
reaches more 18-34 and 18-49 year olds than any cable network in the US
If you’re only targeting desktop users then you’re missing out on a large chunk of your
audience. Herman Drost
Here’s how to target people on mobile devices using YouTube Video Ads Inside Google AdWords
So sign into your Google AdWords account Click on the arrow
Click the drop down Select video campaigns
Select the video campaign or select “campaign 10” here
Click settings Scroll down to “devices”
Click “advanced mobile and tablet options” Click “edit” or “change mobile bid adjustment”
You can see in this campaign that computers received most of the impressions, views and
highest view rate however mobile devices with full browsers received over half the impressions,
a quarter of the views.. I got a view rate of 42.11% and tablets only
received 302 impressions and 121 views and a view rate of 40.07%
If I just want to show my ad to mobile devices with full browsers I can check the box here
If I don’t want to show my ad to mobile devices I just click this symbol here
From the drop down just click “decrease by” put in 100%
It says Example: a $10.00 bid will become $0.00
Click save Here’s 3 important things to keep in mind:
1. If you’re just interested in getting a lot of views to your videos then target people
across all devices 2. If you just want to target people on mobile
devices then create a separate ad group for them
3. Make sure your landing page is mobile friendly otherwise people won’t be able to see your
offer and you’ll waste your money That’s it!

  1. Excellent to know, thanks. Next month I should have enough to take your course. Is it up to date with all the new adword changes?

  2. Thank you for this information. I know my son who is 37 years old uses nothing but his phone. He hardly ever gets on a desktop or laptop.

  3. Hi, thanks for sharing. This essentially shows us how to exclude mobile traffic rather than only target mobile users as per the subject of your video? Doesn't look like there is a way of exclusively running traffic just to mobiles in AdWords at the moment – or am I missing something? We can of course increase mobile bid (ie the opposite of what you are showing) but that doesn't then exclude desktop traffic.

  4. Hi, I wanted to listen to your video, but it's really hard to understand you with your strong accent, plus, you are speaking very fast —just a suggestion –consider speaking a little slower so that I can understand you…it sounds like you are from Australia. Am I right? Thanks for your time, Lucy
