[MUSIC PLAYING] MEREDITH PAPP: Welcome
to another episode of Mobile [Ad]itude. I’m Meredith Papp with the
Google Mobile Ads team. This week we’re launching new
click-to-call phone numbers on ads that appear on mobile
devices with full internet browsers, like iPhone, Android,
and Palm Pre. For advertisers, this means
that users who search on Google will be able to click
to call your business right from your ad, just like
they can click to visit your website. Let’s say I’m looking for a
particular business near me and want to call. You’ll see the ad offers me the
location and phone number of the business location closest
to where I am now in the last line of ad text. I can just click on the
phone number and place my call directly. My standard carrier
rates will apply. Not only does this feature offer
helpful information for users, but advertisers who
participated in our beta trial saw really great results,
ranging from 5% to 30% increases in their click-through
rates. The cost of the click on the
phone number is the same as the cost of a click to
visit your website. If you’re an advertiser and
would like to make sure that your ads show click-to-call
phone numbers when they appear on mobile devices, there’s
two simple steps. From the settings tab, find the
Locations, Languages, and Demographics section, and select
one of the options under Show Relevant Addresses
With Your Ads. Next, you’ll want to make sure
that you’ve selected to show your ads on iPhones and other
mobile devices with full internet browsers in your
campaign settings. From the same settings tab,
scroll down to the Networks, Devices and Extensions section
and click Edit to choose the devices. Here, check iPhones and other
mobile devices with full internet browsers. That’s all you need to do to
make sure that your phone numbers show up when your ads
appear on mobile devices with full internet browsers. Afterwards, you can
check the results. Simply select the Filter and
Views drop-down menu from either the Campaigns, Ad Groups
or Key Words tab on the campaigns page. Then choose to segment
by click type. Your call data will
appear below. So check it out. We hope that this feature
allows users and local businesses to connect
more easily.
